DAVID M. HEROLD

 David M. Herold recently retired from Georgia Tech to devote more time to his consulting practice.  At Georgia Tech he was the Gary and Elizabeth Jones Professor and Area Coordinator for the Organizational Behavior group in the College of Management.  David earned his Ph.D. and Masters Degrees in organizational behavior from Yale University, an MBA in industrial psychology from the City University of New York, and a BS in psychology from the City College of New York.           

In his academic life, David has published widely in the major psychology and management journals, contributed to books, and presented numerous papers at professional meetings.  He served on editorial review boards of major journals, and was a reviewer and editorial consultant for book publishers, journals, and government agencies.   His research interests continue to focus on:  performance feedback in organizations, team performance, executive and leadership development, organizational innovation, and change management.  His current book, Change the Way You Lead Change:  Leadership Strategies that Really Work, was published in June of 2008 by Stanford University Press.           

David’s work as a management consultant focuses on helping companies address a wide range of organizational and human resources issues, including:  change implementation, organizational design, organizational development, leadership development, team building, and various human resource issues.  A large part of his practice involves executive education, designing and delivering both university-based and in-house programs.   A partial list of his clients includes: Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, CNN, Ford Motor Co., Hewlett Packard Corp., the MITRE Corporation, Piedmont Healthcare System, Lockheed Martin Corp., General Electric, and NASA.
